 Voice Extensible Markup Language (VoiceXML)
VoiceXML, which has reached candidate status with the W3C, is a specification designed to make applications more usable by allowing input and output of data using voice recognition, synthesized speech, digitized audio, and more. It uses voice recognition and response to let users interact more easily and naturally with telephony applications using a voice browser.
AT&T, IBM, Lucent Technologies, and Motorola created VoiceXML 1.0 in a joint effort.
